What are my FTP settings? Why does FTP not work?

FTP on port 21 is unencrypted and is not recommended to due security reasons. FTP on port 21 is still enabled for legacy support of older scripts/applications. The E - Techron Group recommends using FTPES (FTP explicit SSL/TLS) or SFTP for the root account. If using SFTP, the default port has been changed to port 15.

We recommend using the free FileZilla FTP/SFTP Client which available for download at their website, http://filezilla-project.org.

You can adjust this setting in FileZilla by referencing Figure 1. Click "Servertype" and select "FTPES" or "SFTP" from the drop downlist and connect as normal. Accept the SSL Certificate when asked.
